Simply beautiful! I don't think I will wait for the holidays, these are so cheerful they will make any day seem brighter!Beautiful Mugs. I bought some for me and bought more to give as a gift. Everyone loves the vivid color and the cardinals on these Lenox mugs.Mom loved them, so I guess they are good...I will start by saying that there are several different products attached to this product listing. I am specifically reviewing the set of 4 accent plates.I selected these plates with the intention of using them around the Christmas season. I knew ahead of time that these are smaller than dinner plates so my intent is to use them as dessert or snack plates. These are nice plates and will definitely add a splash of color to the table. This is a set of four off-white porcelain plates that are glazed and have the image of a cardinal on them. These are not plain plates but have a textured, patterned lip around the edge. They’re a little bigger than salad plates but are smaller than a dinner plate so they are in the no-man’s land in between, making them suitable for dessert or for snacking (unless perhaps you prefer a smaller dinner plate).I have looked over these plates and have found no defects in them. That is, I haven’t found any globs of porcelain that should have been knocked off before firing and no imperfections in the glaze. There are no blemishes in the decorative design either - no smudges or cuts in the red.All this said, I am not especially fond of the red ribbon design. It’s very large and bold and I think it takes away from the overall design. A smaller, more delicate design on the ribbon would have been better in my opinion. The ribbon certainly does not ruin the plates, but it takes away from an otherwise fine product. These are not perfect but these are fine plates that will serve well over the holidays. They’re a little smaller than regular dinner plates, they seem to be well made and they are definitely decorated with Christmas in mind.Very nice plate over-all.We collect glassware and plates. Why certainly these are not considered collectibles as such for the present, they offer a unique design and once out of production, well, who knows! The plate is made well. Each plate lays flat and level on a level surface, something some plate do not due and exhibit a very slight wobble. The smoothness of finish and glazing is also first class. The design is first class too. Not overdone and classy as well.Considering we have several bird-feeders up around our house and our visitors always include Mr and Mrs Cardinal as regulars here and our favorites to watch, this plate sure hits the spot for us!Price of these is quite reasonable with all considered for what you get. A good buy!To add, packaging was first class and the plates are well secured and isolated form each ther and general shock during shipping.5 Stars, what's to say.......a very nice plate set at a great price! While thee are "dish-washer" safe, no where does it state they are "micro-wave safe" so do not ever put them in the mw!Just to note that over a long time, using a dishwasher on embossed china or glass-wear will indeed wear off and/or fad the designs, logo and general color on the glass/china wear. Our rule here for any embossed utensil is to hand wash only! It really takes only a minute to hand wash and over the years of use, that technique will pay off in your plate, glass, mug, etc looking as new as the day you bought it.Brilliant red on top of gleaming cream porcelain makes these accent plates as festive as can be. Very showy and will stand out to create a lovely accent. Of course it is the perfect plate on which to place cookies for Santa's arrival.I saw advertised on Amazon the Lenox Winter Greetings Carved Accent Plates (Set of 4), Ivory by Lenox. They looked beautiful and perfect for the Christmas Season so I ordered them and I am glad I did – so is my wife, whose first response was, “These plates are lovely.” And so they are.Her next question was, “But are they dishwasher safe?” My answer was yes. These plates are made of porcelain and glass and I measured one and it is 9 ½ inches in diameter, perfect for desert or for a candy or hors d'oeuvres.I have a plate here on my desk and just picked it up – it has real heft to it. The plate feels substantial. A red ribbon with Peace in the center circles the diameter of the plate with a bright red cardinal in the center perched on what looks like a sprig of holly berries. The color of the plate is ivory and the plate has a simple engraved edge surrounding the diameter of the plate. The entire effect of this plate suggests Holidays and the winter season. The plates are bright and beautiful and look like what they are – expensive. Recommended without reservation.I like to think of these plates in strong terms. "Intensely Decorative." "Extremely Festive." You have to decide if you want to hand them on a wall or use them to serve Christmas cookies. For some reason the pictures of the plates don't do them justice. At the center of the plate is an exceptionally plumb and self-satisfied male cardinal. Upon seeing it, my mother was of the opinion that I should hang it on my wall, not just for the holidays, but permanently. I'm more inclined to han one for a while during the holidays while serving chocolate chip cookies or chocolate oatmeal cookies, my person speciality. I find then way too festie to even for a second to consider using as permanent wall decorative plates because they are just a little too aggressively happy. They are of course quite lovely, as Lenox always manage to make their products. If you love over the top festive. If you like subtle, this isn't for you.
